GAZA, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- Nothing stops reading!
For many Palestinian reading lovers, the reopening of Samir Mansour bookshop in Gaza City, which was destroyed during the military escalation between Israel and Hamas in May 2021, is just like the return of their home, where they can get lost in a book and escape the hardship of life.
As a man "worked with books his whole life," Samir Mansour has operated the bookshop for over 20 years before it was reduced to rubble.
Bearing in mind that "preserving Palestinian culture for future generations," Mansour determined to reconstruct his bookshop with a campaign, in which he has received donations of hundreds of thousands of books and money.
After around nine months of preparation, the Samir Mansour bookshop finally reopened, and readers can again spend happy hours browsing books there!
