HAVANA, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- Cuba reported 733 COVID-19 infections and five deaths related to the disease in the last day, bringing the total to 1,063,481 cases and 8,482 deaths, the Ministry of Public Health said Thursday.
The ministry's daily report also recorded 3,521 active cases, one of the lowest figures so far this year.
The province of Matanzas registered the highest number of new infections in the last 24 hours with 121 cases, followed by Ciego de Avila with 118, and Sancti Spiritus with 108.
Of Cuba's 11.2 million people, 9.8 million have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, while 5.7 million have received a booster dose, according to health authorities.
The country's national immunization program is being carried out with the Abdala, Soberana-02 and Soberana Plus vaccines, three of the five developed in Cuba. ■
