LOS ANGELES, Feb. 16 (Xinhua) -- The Los Angeles Rams, after defeating the Cincinnati Bengals by 23-20 in the 2021-2022 season championship game of the National Football League (NFL), held their Super Bowl victory parade on Wednesday.

A crowd of Rams fans gathered along the 1.1-mile parade route from the Shrine Auditorium to Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. A rally took place in the Memorial Coliseum's Olympic Plaza after the parade. Organizers said there were about 20,000 fans.

No tickets were required to attend the parade. However, all fans must show either proof of vaccination against COVID-19, a negative antigen test taken within 24 hours, or a negative PCR test taken within 48 hours.

No masks were required for the event after Los Angeles County officials lifted the outdoor mask mandate as of 12:01 a.m. Wednesday local time.

The revised guidance allows people to go without face coverings outdoors at K-12 schools and childcare facilities and in exterior areas of mega events, such as those at the Hollywood Bowl, Dodger Stadium, SoFi Stadium and Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

It was the first such victory celebration in Los Angeles since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic even though teams from the city have won three championships since 2020.

In 2020, the Lakers won the NBA title and the Dodgers won the World Series, but both were denied victory parades because of the pandemic.

Lakers superstar LeBron James proposed Monday that the Rams, Lakers and Dodgers should have a joint parade.

"We, Dodgers and Rams should all do a joint parade together!!!! With a live concert afterwards to end it!!" James tweeted. "City of Champions."
