BRATISLAVA, Feb. 16 (Xinhua) -- HKM Zvolen eased past the struggling bottom-ranked MHK 32 Liptovsky Mikulas 4-0 in the 43rd round to take the top spot in the standings of the Slovak Tipos Extraliga ice hockey league on Tuesday.
Zvolen was never threatened by the visiting team as their goalie Robin Rahm of Sweden just made 24 saves throughout the match. Four different scorers got on the board to help the home team claim the comfortable victory.
HC Slovan Bratislava, boasting the best offense in the league, came up empty-handed visiting HK Spisska Nova Ves. All 40 shots on goal from Slovan Bratislava were denied by home team's veteran goalie Marcel Melichercik while Nova Ves scored twice to clinch the win.
Once again, Tipos Extraliga's top scorer Samuel Bucek lived up to his reputation, scoring the game-winner in overtime to help HK Nitra edge past HK Dukla Michalovce 3-2.
Elsewhere, HC '05 Banska Bystrica defeated HC Kosice 3-1 while HC Nove Zamky lost to HK Poprad 4-1 at home. HK Dukla Trencin beat HC Grotto Presov 2-1. ■
