CHONGLI, Zhangjiakou, Feb. 12 (Xinhua) -- Marius Lindvik clinched Norway's first ski jumping men's large hill individual gold medal since 1964 at the Beijing Winter Olympics here on Saturday.
Lindvik trailed Japan's Ryoyu Kobayashi by 2.2 points after the first round. A second-round jump of 140 meters earned Lindvik 151.3 points, which saw the 23-year-old Norwegian win the gold on 296.1 overall.
Norway's last large hill Olympic champion was Toralf Engan, who came victorious at the 1964 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck, Austria.
Kobayashi, who claimed the men's normal hill individual gold medal, took the silver on 292.8 points, followed by Germany's Karl Geiger.
Kobayashi failed to become the first ski jumper since Swiss' Simon Ammann in 2010 to win both normal and large hill Olympic double.
Three-time Olympic champion Kamil Stoch of Poland finished fourth. ■
