MUMBAI, Feb. 7 (Xinhua) -- India's legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar, fondly called India's Nightingale, passed away at the age of 92 on Sunday.
She was an Indian playback singer and occasional music composer. Mangeshkar, widely considered as one of the greatest and most influential singers in India in her career spanning seven decades, was conferred with many top civilian and cinema awards, including India's highest civilian award "Bharat Ratna."
