ROME, Feb. 6 (Xinhua) -- Juventus' new arrivals Dusan Vlahovic and Denis Zakaria made seamless adaptations to their new club on Sunday, as a pair of strikes from the duo inspired the Bianconeri beat Hellas Verona 2-0 in Serie A.
Juve splashed out nearly 80 million euros to sign hitman Vlahovic from Fiorentina in the past winter transfer window, and also secured the service of the marauding midfielder Zakaria from Borussia Monchengladbach.
The Old Lady entered Sunday's game without Federico Bernardeschi, Federico Chiesa and Manuel Locatelli, Vlahovic and Zakaria were thrown straight into the starting line-up.
Vlahovic lived up to the expectations as he collected his maiden goal just 12 minutes into the game when Paulo Dybala's long pass found the Serbian, who dinked it over an on-rushing goalkeeper.
Zakaria also proved his value on the hour mark as Alvaro Morata started the move from the midfield, sending through for Zakaria to keep his cool to finish with a low strike.
The win, coupled with Atalanta's stunning 2-1 home defeat to Cagliari, saw Juve move into fourth place with 45 points, two points ahead of the Dea who still has a game in hand.
Also on Sunday, Napoli maintains its second place after a 2-0 away victory over Venezia, thanks to goals from Victor Osimhen and Andrea Petagna.
Elsewhere, Sampdoria destroyed Sassuolo 4-0, Udinese saw off Torino 2-0, Bologna shared the spoils with Empoli at 0-0. ■
