CAIRO, Feb. 4 (Xinhua) -- Working equids provide vital power and transport for many communities around the globe, especially in developing countries. In Egypt, they carry out tasks such as pulling and carrying in harsh conditions but usually have no sufficient welfare.

At the clinics of Brooke Hospital for Animals, working horses, donkeys and mules can enjoy proper free medical treatment. With six clinics and one office in Cairo, Alexandria, Luxor, Edfu, Aswan, Mersa Matrouh and Mansoura, the hospital treats thousands of working equids each year.
