BRATISLAVA, Jan. 29 (Xinhua) -- With still only half of the scheduled fixtures able to be played due to the increasing number of COVID-19 infections in the teams of the Slovak ice-hockey premiership, HK Nitra keeps marching on and managed to win its 7th consecutive match on Friday.
HK Nitra crushed one of the newcomers HK Spisska Nova Ves 7-1 as top scorer Samuel Bucek's hat-trick and two assists were keys for the dominant performance.
The 23-year-old leads the league's scoring department with 26 goals scored in 36 rounds, having added also 14 assists so far. His teammate Adrian Holesinsky also had a great night, scoring twice and assisting on two more goals.
HK Poprad had little trouble outscoring the struggling MHK 32 Liptovsky Mikulas 4-1, and HK Dukla Trencin, three defeats in a row, managed to win 3-2 over HC Nove Zamky. ■
