WINDHOEK, Jan. 25 (Xinhua) -- The Sandhof Lily Pan is a clay plain in the southern region of Namibia near the town of Maltehohe, 300 kilometers from the capital Windhoek. Miracles happen whenever rainfall reaches 15-30 cm. Thousands of lilies bloom at the same time, turning the entire area into a sea of flowers.
The lilies also brought good business to local accommodation establishments in the area with most of them fully booked, said Rene Mostert, a manager at Anandi Guesthouse.
Whenever the lilies are in full bloom, it not only attracts a large number of domestic tourists, but also tourists from foreign countries such as South Africa, Botswana, Angola, Germany, Netherlands, UK and other European countries, speeding up the local catering, hotel and other tourism industries' recovery.
Many local and foreign tourists are expected to visit the farm in the next few days to experience this short-lived natural wonder.
