ZHENGZHOU, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- Baofeng County is famous for producing Ru porcelain, one of the five famous porcelains during the Song Dynasty (960-1279). As the Year of Tiger approaches, Ru porcelain craftsmen make porcelain figurines showcasing tiger in Chinese culture. Using traditional technological processes and methods such as manual trimming, formulation of glaze, glazing and kilning, Ru porcelain craftsmen give life into each piece of tiger-shaped Ru porcelain.

In recent years, Baofeng County has been promoting the development of the Ru porcelain industry, accelerating the structural adjustment of this industry, and making active exploration to expand marketing channels while ensuring upgrades of product quality. Now, there are over 100 representative inheritors of the kilning technique of Ru porcelain across the county, and over 120 Ru porcelain kilning enterprises and research institutes, with an annual output of over 10 million pieces (sets) of Ru porcelain.
