FREETOWN, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- A press release from the Office of Sierra Leonean President said that the country's Attorney General and Minister of Justice Anthony Brewah has been replaced with the former Solicitor General Mohamed Lamin Tarawalley.
The release, issued in Freetown, the capital of Sierra Leone, late Tuesday, did not state the reason for the attorney general's dismissal.
Local media reported it is connected with the release of a convicted murderer serving life imprisonment, which sparked lots of public outcries.
Earlier this week, President Julius Maada Bio ordered a full investigation into the case. ■
