THE HAGUE, Jan. 16 (Xinhua) -- The first round of the Tata Steel Chess Tournament 2022 kicked off in Wijk aan Zee, the Netherlands on Saturday.

Due to the COVID-19 control and prevention measures in the Netherlands, the amateur chess players were not present and there was no audience.
