TIANJIN, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- In Tianjin, a city known for its comic traditions, residents have resorted to various ways to stay upbeat despite a resurgence of COVID-19.
By showing off their comic talents, some Tianjin people try to cheer up their fellows while taking nucleic acid tests.
Tianjin launched the third round of citywide nucleic acid testing on Saturday, which is scheduled to be completed in about 24 hours.
The infections in Tianjin were first reported on Dec. 8, and the gene sequencing found the first two locally transmitted confirmed cases were the VOC/Omicron variant.
The city logged 39 new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases on Friday.
Prevention and control measures against COVID-19 have been upgraded to contain the spread of the virus.
