NEW DELHI, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) -- In the Amritsar district of India's northern Punjab state, workers are preparing kite threads for the Lohri festival.
The Lohri festival which marks the end of the winter season is a popular festival in Punjab providing the opportunity for people to interact with family members and friends.
On the Lohri day, people fly kites in the day and light bonfires in the night to celebrate the festival.
