A giant tunnel-boring machine (TBM) made by a Chinese company for export to Sri Lanka rolled off the assembly line on Thursday.
The machine was developed by a branch of the China Railway Construction Heavy Industry Corporation in Changsha.
The TBM with a diameter of 7.6 meters is about to be used in a water diversion project in Sri Lanka.
Reports say the 27-km project in Sri Lanka will be the longest hard rock tunneling project in the country.
It's expected to help with irrigation and alleviate droughts and floods in Sri Lanka.
