JERUSALEM, Jan. 3 (Xinhua) -- Israel's hi-tech companies have raised a record 25.6 billion U.S. dollars in 2021, the Israeli IVC Research Center reported Monday.
This is a sharp increase of about 146 percent, compared with 10.4 billion dollars raised in 2020.
The new record was made by 773 deals, 77 of which exceeded 100 million dollars each. Those mega deals reached a total of 14.1 billion dollars, or 55.1 percent of the total investment.
This is compared to 20 mega-deals exceeding 100 million dollars made in 2020.
Among the 77 mega-deals, 44 were in the fields of cybersecurity and fintech, the report noted.
The amounts of foreign capital in Israeli hi-tech companies have reached a record 18.64 billion dollars, or 72.8 percent of the total investment. Enditem
