DAR ES SALAAM, Dec. 24 (Xinhua) -- At least 38 health workers have tested positive for COVID-19 between Dec. 16 and Dec. 23 but they are not in critical condition, a senior official said on Friday.
Marijani Msafiri, the director general in Zanzibar's Ministry of Health, Social Welfare, Elderly, Gender and Children, said the 38 health workers were among 89 people who tested positive for COVID-19 after 143 people were screened during the period under review.
Msafiri told a press conference that only nine people out of the 89 people who tested positive for the virus in the past one week have been admitted to hospitals.
He urged people to continue observing precaution measures against the pandemic, including avoiding crowds, washing hands with soap and running water, wearing face masks and observing social distancing. Enditem
