BOGOTA, Dec. 22 (Xinhua) -- Harold Preciado converted a late penalty as Deportivo Cali beat Deportes Tolima 2-1 away to secure their 10th Colombian top flight title on Wednesday.
Julian Quinones had given the hosts an early lead in the second leg of the Primera A Clausura final before Jhon Vazquez put Cali on level terms with a cool finish just before the hour mark.
Preciado held his nerve from the spot after an Eduar Caicedo handball 15 minutes from time.
The result handed Deportivo Cali a 3-2 victory on aggregate after the teams drew 1-1 in Sunday's first leg.
"I'm over the moon," Preciado told reporters after the match. "We dedicate this victory to our families and the fans of Cali, who deserve it. We are going to enjoy this."
It was Deportivo Cali's 10th Colombian league title and their second triumph in six years.
The result guarantees the club a place in the group phase of next year's Copa Libertadores, South America's premier club competition. Enditem
