ZHANGJIAKOU, China, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- German ski jumping star Carina Vogt said here on Saturday that she wished to celebrate her 30th birthday at the upcoming Beijing Winter Olympics.

The legendary ski jumper, who won gold at the Sochi Winter Games in 2014, took bronze with 183.5 points in the women's normal hill at Ski Jumping Continental Cup, also a Beijing 2022 test event.

The Beijing Winter Olympics will start on Feb. 4, 2022, one day before Vogt's birthday.

"I will give everything to come back again and celebrate my birthday here," Vogt said after Saturday's race.

The test event took place at the National Ski Jumping Center, the venue for the ski jumping and Nordic combined events at Beijing 2022.

"I'm very impressed with the Olympics venue," said Vogt. "The hill was prepared very well so we can have some good competition."

Russia's Mariia Iakovleva finished first with 189.4 points, 5.2 points ahead of her compatriot Diana Toropchenova.

Vogt was the first woman to win an Olympic ski jumping gold medal, a feat she achieved at Sochi 2014 when the women's event was first introduced into the Winter Olympics.

The German then claimed back-to-back individual and mixed normal hill world titles in 2015 and 2017, though she failed to retain her Olympic crown at PyeongChang 2018.

In July 2019, Vogt suffered an ACL rupture during training and missed the whole 2019/20 season. The veteran didn't come back until last August.

"It was quite cool to be back because I had a knee injury and it took me a long time to compete again," said Vogt. Enditem
