On May 26, U.S. President Joe Biden gave U.S. intelligence agencies 90 days to report on whether the virus originated from an animal source or from a laboratory accident.
The WHO said in March that COVID-19 introduction through a laboratory incident was considered to be an "extremely unlikely" pathway, refuting lab-leak theories.
