El Salvador received on Sunday its first batch of COVID-19 vaccines from Chinese pharmaceutical company Sinovac.
The Salvadoran government is looking to immunize 4.5 million people, except for those under 18 years of age and pregnant women, to achieve herd immunity over the course of one year.
El Salvador began its vaccination program on Feb. 17, and will begin inoculating adults and people with chronic diseases on April 15, with the CoronaVac vaccines.
