HONG KONG, March 26 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong's Center for Health Protection (CHP) reported 11 additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Friday, taking the total tally to 11,439.
Of the new cases, three were transmitted locally, including one with an untraceable origin, according to a CHP press conference.
As the epidemic has shown signs of abating, the government said Friday that schools and kindergartens will be allowed to resume half-day in-person learning for no more than two-thirds of their total students.
Besides, a 59-year-old man died Thursday, who took the Fosun Pharma/BioNTech vaccine jab a week ago. Investigations are underway.
As of Thursday, some 420,900 people had received their first shot in Hong Kong, with 269,600 given the Sinovac Biotech vaccine and 151,300 the Fosun Pharma/BioNTech vaccine.
