KUWAIT CITY, March 13 (Xinhua) -- Kuwait reported 20 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of coronavirus cases in the country to 100, the Ministry of Health said Friday in a statement.
A total of 15 new cases are Kuwaiti citizens who travelled back from Iran, while one citizen was related to travel to Britain and anther returned from the United State, the statement said.
The other three cases are a Spanish citizen who recently returned from Spain and two Egyptians who were in contact with a person from Azerbaijan, it said.
Kuwait decided on Wednesday to suspend all commercial flights starting Friday to curb the spread of COVID-19.
Li Minggang, Chinese ambassador to Kuwait, said on Tuesday that Kuwaiti health officials had expressed willingness to send medical teams to learn from China's experience in fighting the pandemic after it ends.
