KINSHASA, March 12 (Xinhua) -- Congolese Health Minister Eteni Longondo announced on Thursday the confirmation of a second case of novel coronavirus in Kinshasa, capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
According to the minister's announcement, a Cameroonian who lives in the DRC with his family went on vacation to France and returned to Kinshasa on March 8. When he returned, he showed no symptoms, but when he got home he started to feel sick. He alerted the health services and tested positive for the coronavirus.
Currently the patient is being taken care of by the coronavirus response team in Kinshasa. The announcement of the second case came only two days after the declaration by the health authorities of the DRC of the first case.
