ADDIS ABABA, March 12 (Xinhua)--The Eritrea Ministry of Health (MoH) on Thursday disclosed visitors from China, Italy, South Korea and Iran will be quarantined as part of an anti-novel coronavirus measure.
"Visitors who originate directly from, or who have transited through, China, Italy, South Korea and Iran will be quarantined," said the statement.
The four countries have been among the worst novel coronavirus affected countries in the world, ever since the disease was first detected.
The Eritrea Ministry of Health also called on all nationals and foreigners who may have plans to travel to, and from Eritrea, to postpone their plans voluntarily.
"The Ministry will also accordingly issue appropriate announcements and guidelines," said the MoH statement.
Although, the novel coronavirus disease incidences have been reported in dozens of countries around the world including several in Africa, Eritrea is among the countries that has yet to record cases of the disease.
On Wednesday, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the novel coronavirus to be a pandemic, underlining the serious threat the disease poses to the health of millions of people.
