COLOMBO, March 12 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lanka's Education Ministry, on Thursday ordered for all schools to be closed till April 20, as a preventive measure against the spread of the COVID-19.
Education Minister Dullas Alahapperuma told a media briefing that all government schools had been notified of the government's decision while private schools will also be requested to close down.
Sri Lanka's Health Ministry has taken strict measures after a local man tested positive for the COVID-19 on Tuesday after which he was taken to the IDH Hospital for treatment.
Three other suspected patients were taken to the IDH on Thursday morning, the Health Ministry said.
