TUNIS, March 10 (Xinhua) -- Tunisia said on Tuesday that 268 passengers who returned from Italy by ship were placed in quarantine.
During a press briefing held in Tunis by the Ministry of Health, Nissaf Ben Alaya, director general of the National Observatory of New and Emerging Diseases, said an electronic application had been created to allow any arrival to monitor his state of health.
The sanctions for those who do not comply with the instructions required by the Ministry of Health can go up to six-month imprisonment and a fine of 1,500 dinars (535 U.S. dollars), the official warned.
The Tunisian Health Ministry earlier reported the sixth confirmed case of the novel coronavirus in the country.
