China's cooperation with El Salvador in the health sector has been fundamental to combating the COVID-19 epidemic in the Carribean country, Salvadoran Health Minister Francisco Alabi has said.
Bilateral cooperation has been very "committed" and "thorough" in many sectors, including healthcare and the fight against COVID-19, Alabi told Xinhua in a recent interview just after three years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
China's collaboration with El Salvador in the health sector goes beyond supplies of vaccines from Chinese pharmaceutical companies Sinovac and Sinopharm, the most widely used in the country, Alabi said.
Amid the pandemic, China has acted in a timely manner with altruism and a sense of solidarity for the benefit of the entire world, sharing not only biological resources but also "measures and recommendations for the management of the pandemic," he said.
