HONG KONG, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong's Center for Health Protection (CHP) reported two new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, including one untraceable local case, taking the total tally to 12,253.
The local case involved a 48-year-old man working in the Hong Kong International Airport. The last time Hong Kong saw a local case of COVID-19 was on Aug. 17.
The imported case involved a person arriving in Hong Kong from Britain. A total of 82 cases have been reported in the past 14 days and all were imported, according to the CHP.
Hong Kong's vaccination drive is making steady progress. Since the launch of the government inoculation program in late February, around 4.53 million people, or 67.2 percent of the eligible population, have taken at least one shot of the vaccine, while around 4.26 million are fully vaccinated.
