JAKARTA, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- The COVID-19 cases in Indonesia rose by 8,955 within one day to 4,109,093, with the death toll adding by 680 to 134,356, the country's Health Ministry said on Thursday.
According to the ministry, 21,208 more people were discharged from hospitals, bringing the total number of patients recovering from COVID-19 to 3,798,099.
On Thursday, Indonesia received 1.19 million doses of Pfizer vaccine, which will be used in the national vaccination program.
To date, at least 37.15 million people in the country have received two shots of vaccines, while 65.22 million have taken the first dose, the ministry added.
Indonesia, with a population of more than 270 million, is targeting to vaccinate 208.2 million people. Enditem
