MEXICO CITY, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- Club Tijuana manager Sebastian Abreu said Monday he would not rush Gilberto Mora back into the team as the teenager recovers from an ankle problem.

Mora sustained the injury while playing for Mexico in its 1-1 friendly draw with Colombia last month. The 17-year-old midfielder missed El Tri's subsequent friendlies against Peru and the United States in addition to Tijuana's 1-1 draw at Juarez in the Liga MX Apertura tournament on Saturday.

"Gil has some inflammation, and what concerns us most is giving him adequate recovery time and managing his training volume and workload," Abreu told reporters.

"There is nothing to be alarmed or worried about. Given his age, we have to be very careful so the situation doesn't escalate. Everything is under control."

Mora has emerged as one of Mexico's brightest talents following his impressive performances at this year's FIFA World Cup. He has attracted the interest of several European clubs, including Barcelona, Real Madrid, Liverpool and Manchester United, according to Mexican media reports. ■
