ISLAMABAD, May 7 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan's Foreign Office expressed hope on Thursday that a potential agreement between the United States and Iran could be reached "sooner rather than later."
"We would expect an agreement sooner rather than later," Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi told a weekly press briefing here in response to a question on talks between Washington and Tehran.
He said Pakistan is ready to facilitate dialogue, describing the country as an "honest facilitator."
"As an honest facilitator and mediator, it is incumbent upon us to hold information and will guard all information," he said, adding that Pakistan would welcome any settlement regardless of the venue.
"If it takes place in Islamabad, it would be an honor and privilege," he added. ■
