ISLAMABAD, June 15 (Xinhua) -- Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday welcomed the announcement of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the United States and Iran, saying it could pave the way for a final agreement and lasting regional peace.
In a statement on X, Zardari said Pakistan had consistently supported dialogue and diplomacy during the period of tensions and viewed the development as a positive step toward resolving disputes through engagement and mutual respect.
He said the agreement would help strengthen multilateralism and contribute to peace, stability and prosperity in the region and beyond. ■
