BEIJING, May 26 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 jolted South Sandwich Islands region at 1612 GMT on Monday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10 km, was initially determined to be at 57.86 degrees south latitude and 25.42 degrees west longitude. ■
