JERUSALEM, May 24 (Xinhua) -- A pilot and a passenger were killed on Sunday morning when a light civilian plane crashed near Nazareth in northern Israel, authorities said.
Emek Medical Center in the city of Afula said in a statement that the two men were pronounced dead.
There were two men aboard the plane when it crashed.
Paramedics of Israel's rescue service Magen David Adom found them unconscious and critically injured next to the wreckage of the plane in a field at Moshav Tel Adashim, between Nazareth and Afula. They were taken to Emek Medical Center while undergoing CPR.
According to Israel's Kan TV, Civil Aviation Authority investigators are investigating the circumstances of the incident. ■
