WASHINGTON, May 12 (Xinhua) -- Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 35 points as the Oklahoma City Thunder held off the Los Angeles Lakers 115-110 on Monday, completing a four-game sweep to advance to the NBA Western Conference finals.

Ajay Mitchell had 28 points, including 10 in the fourth quarter. Chet Holmgren and Jared McCain added 16 and 13 points, respectively.

The Thunder opened the second quarter on a 17-0 run to take a double-digit lead before going into halftime ahead by four.

The Lakers took control after the break, carrying a four-point lead into the fourth quarter.

The Thunder tied the game midway through the final period on a McCain 3-pointer and held on to take the series-clinching victory.

Lakers star LeBron James, 41, had 24 points and 12 rebounds in the final game of his record 23rd season. Austin Reaves scored 27 points before missing a tying 3-point attempt with eight seconds left. Rui Hachimura chipped in 25.

James said after the game that he was unsure of his plans.

"I don't know. Obviously it's still fresh from losing," he said. "I don't know. I don't know what the future holds for me obviously, as it stands right now tonight."

The Thunder will face either the San Antonio Spurs or Minnesota Timberwolves in the Conference finals, with that semifinal series now tied 2-2.

In the Eastern Conference, the Cleveland Cavaliers evened their second-round series against the Detroit Pistons with a 112-103 victory.

Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell had 39 points in the second half, tying an NBA playoff record. He finished with 43 points.

The other Eastern Conference semifinal was decided on Sunday, when the New York Knicks routed the Philadelphia 76ers 144-114 to sweep the series.
