KABUL, May 11 (Xinhua) -- A total of 978 Afghan families comprising 5,046 people returned to Afghanistan from neighboring countries in a single day, the official Bakhtar news agency said Monday.
The report added that 653 of the returning families were safely transferred to their home provinces, and cash assistance was distributed to the families. ■
