BUENOS AIRES, April 20 (Xinhua) -- Central Cordoba recovered from a goal down to register a 4-3 home win over Platense in Argentina's Apertura tournament on Monday.
Franco Zapiola gave the visitors the lead at Unico Stadium before Alejandro Maciel equalized and Fernando Martinez put the hosts ahead.
Central Cordoba extended its advantage after halftime as Ezequiel Naya and Diego Barrera netted either side of Kevin Retamar's 71st-minute strike.
Bautista Merlini pulled a goal back three minutes from time but the visitors were unable to find an equalizer despite dominating in the final stages.
The result leaves Central Cordoba 13th in Group A with 15 points, one behind 11th-placed Platense, with both teams having played 14 matches.
Elsewhere in Argentina's top flight on Monday, Belgrano drew 0-0 at Barracas Central, Gimnasia Mendoza won 1-0 at home to Lanus, Banfield was held to a goalless home draw by Independiente Rivadavia, Huracan drew 1-1 at Tigre and Velez Sarsfield played out a goalless draw at San Lorenzo. ■
