KABUL, April 11 (Xinhua) -- Eight members of a family lost their lives and another was injured as the roof of their house caved in in eastern Afghanistan's Parwan province on Saturday, provincial police spokesman Fazal Rahim Muskinyar said.
The deadly incident took place in the wake of heavy rain in Syagird district early this morning, the official said.
Earlier, a similar incident claimed the lives of eight members of a family and injured a child in Bagrami area of Kabul.
Rain-related incidents, including house collapses and flash floods, have left 148 dead and injured more than 200 others in Afghanistan over the past two weeks. ■
