SAO PAULO, March 8 (Xinhua) -- Former Barcelona striker Vitor Roque struck in the second half as Palmeiras secured its 27th Paulista title with a 2-1 win at Novorizontino on Sunday.
Matheus Bianqui cancelled out Murilo Cerqueira's early strike before Roque capitalized on an error from goalkeeper Jordi Almeida to fire in the winner just after the hour.
The result gave Palmeiras a 3-1 victory on aggregate after a 1-0 home win in last week's first leg of the final.
"Today, being able to contribute, play minutes and score a goal makes me very happy and proud," the 21-year-old Brazil international said.
"It was my first title wearing the Palmeiras shirt and now I want to win more. This is a very close-knit group with no individual egos and players who are prepared to make sacrifices for the good of the team. Everyone in this squad deserves this title."
Palmeiras will now turn its attention to Brazil's Serie A, while Novorizontino will focus on the Serie B. ■
