MEXICO CITY, March 5 (Xinhua) -- Club America forward Victor Davila faces at least six months on the sidelines after suffering a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament, the Mexican club said on Thursday.
The 28-year-old Chile international sustained the injury during the first half of the 2-1 home defeat to FC Juarez in the Liga MX on Thursday.
Subsequent scans confirmed the need for reconstructive surgery.
America also said that Mexico U-23 winger Isaias Violante had suffered a torn medial collateral ligament of his right knee.
Local media reported that the 22-year-old would be out for three or four weeks.
"The recovery time for our players will depend on their progress," America said in a brief statement on social media. ■
