RIO DE JANEIRO, March 5 (Xinhua) -- Santos has completed the signing of Uruguayan midfielder Christian Oliva from Uruguay's Club Nacional, the Brazilian Serie A club said on Thursday.
The 29-year-old agreed to a deal that runs until the end of 2028, Santos said in a statement.
"I come from a big club, with a lot of pressure," Oliva told a news conference. "I know how to handle under pressure. On the field it is more or less like that."
Oliva made 84 appearances in his second spell for Nacional following his 2024 move from Argentina's Talleres. His career has also included spells at Spain's Valencia, Italy's Cagliari and Mexico's Juarez.
"It is a great source of pride to be here, where Pele and Neymar played, among many others," he said. "I will honor this shirt and I want to bring joy to the club. I am in good physical condition, I had been playing and had a good preseason. I played three matches and I am ready for my debut." ■
