RIYADH, March 4 (Xinhua) -- Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Defense reported on Wednesday that its air defenses intercepted and destroyed a total of 10 drones and two cruise missiles targeting the kingdom.
In a statement in its official X account, the ministry said that 9 drones were shot down upon entering Saudi airspace.
A military spokesperson added that two cruise missiles were intercepted and destroyed in Al-Kharj, a city southeast of the capital Riyadh, while an additional drone was brought down in the Eastern Province.
No further details regarding the origin of the projectiles or any resulting damage were provided in the initial report. ■
