KUALA LUMPUR, Dec. 30 (Xinhua) -- Global climate change had multiple environmental impacts in Malaysia in 2024, including an increase in flood incidents to 1,345 cases from 809 cases in 2023, official data showed Tuesday.
The maximum mean temperature recorded from 42 stations showed a decrease in 33 stations between 0.1 degrees Celcius and 1.3 degrees Celcius, while only two stations recorded a marginal increase as compared to 2023, the Department of Statistics Malaysia said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the annual rainfall in 22 stations showed an increase between 51.0 mm and 2,230.9 mm. ■
