KUALA LUMPUR, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- Malaysia-based Top Glove, the world's largest glove maker, has returned to the black in the fiscal year 2025 ended on Aug. 31, 2025, underpinned by improved sales, the firm said Thursday.

Top Glove said in a bourse filing that it posted a net profit of 109.07 million ringgit (25.86 million U.S. dollars) in the fiscal year 2025, as compared to a net loss of 64.88 million ringgit a year ago.

The firm's revenue for the year rose 38.78 percent year-on-year to 3.49 billion ringgit.

In a statement, the firm said its improved performance was primarily attributed to stronger glove demand, which continued to gain momentum throughout the fiscal year.

Enhanced cost management also enabled more competitive pricing, lifting sales volume, which in turn boosted utilization rate to approximately 75 percent of running capacity in August 2025.

The resulting operating leverage served to enhance cost efficiency, while favorable raw material prices helped cushion the impact of a weaker U.S. dollar.

The group remains optimistic on the long-term prospects of the glove industry, underpinned by its essential role across healthcare, industrial, and food and beverage (F&B) sectors.

While mindful of ongoing challenges, which include heightened competition, labor shortages, and the rising cost of doing business, the group said it is well able to overcome these pressures through robust quality and cost optimization initiatives. (1 ringgit equals 0.24 U.S. dollar)
