ISTANBUL, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- Fishermen off Yoroz Port in Türkiye's Trabzon province recovered an unmanned marine vehicle of suspected foreign origin in the Black Sea on Tuesday, which led to a full-scale security operation, local authorities said.

The Trabzon governor's office said naval forces' special operations teams, alongside other security units, were deployed to the scene, adding that the object was secured under strict safety protocols.

"The object has been preserved for examination by specialized teams, and a detailed technical investigation and inquiry are ongoing," the office said, urging citizens to report any similar incidents to security forces.

Halil Ibrahim Bozok, one of the fishermen who found the device, told reporters that the object was detected on radar about 800 meters off the shore and was found to contain explosives. "We thought it was a fiberglass boat, and we did not suspect it contained explosives," he said.

"We hooked it and brought it aboard, only to later learn it contained 300 kg of explosive material," Bozok was quoted as saying by NTV broadcaster.
