JAKARTA, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia plans to increase state revenue next year without raising tax rates or introducing new taxes, the country's Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said on Tuesday.

The official told parliament that government spending needs to remain high but tax receipts are stable, adding that her ministry will focus on improving compliance.

"Those capable of paying taxes must continue to do so, while those struggling will receive maximum assistance," she said.

Indonesia's finance ministry has set next year's spending at 3,786.5 trillion rupiah (about 230.6 billion U.S. dollars) and revenue at 3,147.7 trillion rupiah.

Of the total revenue, tax revenue is projected to contribute 2,357.7 trillion rupiah, the ministry said.
