NASA announced further delays in its Artemis moon program due to a technical issue with the Orion spacecraft.
Artemis II, initially scheduled for launch in September 2025, is now set to launch in April 2026, while Artemis III, originally planned for September 2026, has been delayed to mid-2027.
The delay follows the discovery of a heat shield problem during the Artemis I mission in 2022.
Artemis III will mark the first moon landing by U.S. astronauts in over 50 years.
