HONG KONG, April 23 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 hit the Papua New Guinea region at 0759 GMT on Tuesday, the GFZ German Research Center for Geosciences said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 81.2 km, was initially determined to be at 6.19 degrees south latitude and 147.20 degrees east longitude. ■
